BRIAN LARA ON WINDOWS XP !!
Having searched MANY Brian Lara Cricket forums, I am very confident that I am the first to find the solution to get BLC to run under WindowsXP Home Edition. So here is is:Firstly, you have to decide whether to create a new BLC CD, or to create temporary installation files on your hard drive (that are deleted straight after installation).
In this example, I have used ''C:/BLC'' as a temporary installation folder. TO CUT A LONG STORY SHORT: Windows XP cannot read ''D:/Program/Nets/Practice'' ... However, it CAN read ''D:/Program/Nets2/Practice''
THEREFORE: You have to copy the files from ''Nets2/Practice'' into ''Nets/Practice'' so it can install. HERE IS THE DETAIL ABOUT HOW TO DO IT:

1) Firstly, copy ALL files from the CD EXCEPT ''D:/Program'' and paste into ''C:/BLC''
2) Create a new folder called ''Program'' in ''C:/BLC''

|
3) Then copy ALL of the files from ''D:/Program'' into ''C:/BLC/Program'' EXCEPT ''D:/Program/Nets''
4) Then create a new folder called ''Nets'' in ''C:/BLC/Program''
|
|
|
|
5) Then copy all of ''D:/Program/Nets'' EXCEPT ''D:/Program/Nets/Practice'' and paste into ''C:/BLC/Program/Nets'
6) Create a folder called ''Practice'' in ''C:/BLC/Program/Nets''
|
|
|
|
7) NOW: COPY ALL OF ''D:/Program/Nets2/Practice'' into ''C:/BLC/Program/Nets/Practice''
|
|
|
|
8) Double-Click ''C:/BLC/Setup'' (NOT ''setup.now'') and install.
8b) After installation, ''C:/BLC'' can be deleted.

9) Download a specific Graphics driver for your graphics card [Files now downloadable from my website as of 15/06/2008]... or ''Software.rar'' if your card is not listed:

9b) You need Winrar to unzip this. You can download it from: Winrar

|
|
|
10) Unzip the driver to ''C:/Codemasters/Brian Lara Cricket/''
|
|
|
|
11) Double-click on the graphics driver you just unzipped and it will run the game.
11b) When you see the picture of Brian Lara, press ''Right'' and then ''Enter''. YOU MUST DO THIS TO GET SOUND.
11c) To keep sound: ALWAYS WAIT UNTIL THE END OF AN OVER TO ''Save'' OR ''Generate Innings''
